501-01 FREEDOM!!!! No longer a "Christian"
Hi everyone,
This "New Age" to me is about self-empowerment and finding your own spirituality, your own I AM presence. Unfortunately, New Age has become just another form of "religion," one of thousands where people bring in all what they judge as "good" things about their old religion and try to make it work into New Age, where old religion failed them. While some have let go of traditional religious beliefs, they are still CONTROLLED by the religious beliefs that are in mass consciousness. I say that because even though I lost my religion when I was 13 years old, when we were excommunicated from the Catholic Church. I went to being an Atheist and then to an Agnostic but I never felt any draw to any Christian religious sect or any other religion. New Age I liked as it was different as it also linked the other things that religion and science denied or scoffed at.
On my journey, I studied other religions but found that they were all saying the same thing but in a different way. What I found was that what we were told and believed love is, isn't unconditional love, but love with conditions claiming to be unconditional. I"ve found the beginning of unconditional love here on Earth and it begins with self-love. However, sub-consciously, even though I was no longer a Christian and now into New Age and finding my "I AM" presence, I still believed that I was a Christian in that I had adopted certain Christian values as a way of being.
The twisted thinking here is that if I was a Christian, then being a Christian is what I AM. And if I AM a Christian, then why am I looking to find who I AM, if I am already a Christian. Being something that I was not, was not freeing me to be who I AM. Another way to look at this is to say that I am a plumber. Well, I AM a spiritual being having and Earthy experience but I am not a plumber, but what I am experiencing and doing is plumbing. The same is true if I then took up flying, piloting is what Im experiencing, but I AM not a pilot. What we do (experience) is not who we are anymore that what be believe though religion or society is who we are. I am Canadian. Not! I live in Canada. What is a Canadian?
Just before Christmas of 2002, I had a revelation, a release and a new found sense of freedom. I am no longer a "Christian", neither am I an atheist, agnostic, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, New Age or whatever. I realized that because I thought and used the words I AM (a Christian) that that was who I was and as long as I thought that that was who I was, I couldnt be who I AM. I am what I AM, (ME), not someone else's beliefs of who they or who I think I should be, but just being me and my own I AM presence. That realization was so freeing and empowering. I laughed as now I saw how all the other people are so rigidly tied to their beliefs and customs while I walked through them without guilt or shame, not caught up in all the hype, beliefs or traditions of what is right or wrong.
When I met my ex wife and children at Christmas, I commented "what strange customs you have," as they gave me presents, which I accepted, but I gave none in return. Christianity or any other religion has no more significance to me now than it did to the North American Indians when Columbus came over with the crucifix and all the Catholic beliefs. So what! Another way of looking at it is, does an infant give a hoot about what religion his parents are?
Now I'm working on, and looking forward to doing the same with the rest of the false beliefs I have. Well that's it for now, more "food for thought."

Re: 501-01 FREEDOM!!!! No longer a "Christian"
Interesting. I generically call myself a "pagan" as I am a nature *worshiper* (not quite the right word). I feel that we are all of us, together, the creator ... I suppose similar to Jungs collective unconcious-one that includes animals, rocks, trees, nature, and even the matter that we do not traditionally believe are alive (ie, your table and chair). Anything that consists of matter. Since we are all the creator, we all have a responsibility for what exists in the world. We cannot use scapegoats such as "evil" people to excuse our own spiritual disease.
(I will finish this post later .... I was distracted and lost my train of thought LOL)
